PAWS ID is a 6-digit identification number used to keep and maintain records through the PAWS system.
If you forget your PAWS ID number, contact the Help Desk at 609-771-2660 or helpdesk@tcnj.edu.
- Visit Account Manager.
- Click on the Account Lookup link and fill out the relevant information.
Visit PAWS Help.
- Login to PAWS and go to Student Center.
- Look under Academics and open “other academic…” list.
- Select “Transcript: View Unofficial” and click blue double arrow.
- Make sure Pop-Ups are enabled, because the report appears in a new window. Select “Unofficial Transcript” and click View Report.
- Login to PAWS and go to Student Center.
- Look under Academics and open “other academic…” list.
- Select “Transcript: View Official” and click blue double arrow.
- Fill out information and submit.
- After the request is received and processed, transcripts arrive within 3-5 business days.

- Enrollment verification is done 30 days prior to the upcoming semester through National Student Clearinghouse.

Fill out the Change of Major Form and get the appropriate signatures.
Fill out the Minor Form.
- Fill out the Course Authorization Form and submit it to an Academic Evaluator at Records & Registration.
- [If the course is an NJ community college] Check NJTransfer to see if there’s an equivalent course at TCNJ.
- [If it is not at a community college] Include a course description directly from the particular school’s website.
Classes at TCNJ are measured in units and 1 unit = 4 Credits.
- Contact your department’s Assistant Dean about a Course Overload.
- Every department has a different process.
- If approved, the Assistant Dean will send the information directly to our office.
- Complete the Internship Enrollment Form.
- Bring the form to the Office of Records and Registration.
- Complete the Independent Study Form.
- Bring the form to the Office of Records and Registration.
- Log into PAWS and go to your Student Center.
- Your advisor’s name is listed on the right-hand column of the Student Center.
- Login to PAWS and go to your Student Center.
- Click on “Advising Tools” and then follow “View my Advisement Report.”
- Your evaluator audits your degree requirements and makes sure you can graduate.
- They may also review transfer and test credits sent to TCNJ.
- Their contact information can be found in the Advising Tools section or your PAWS Student Center.
- Login to PAWS and go into your Student Center.
- Click on “Advising Tools” and on the next page look for a link for Graduation.
- Login to PAWS and go into your Student Center.
- Click on “Advising Tools” and then click View my Advisement Report.
- If something is missing, contact your department/program advisor.
You will want to double check to make sure any exceptions, waivers, or substitutions, you received were sent to your evaluator.
Contact your evaluator to resolve the issue.
